Like many of us who spent any amount of time in the NFL, there were those that set the standard for excellence that we aspired to reach.  One of those great leaders was Bobby Beathard who set the standard for all the General Managers who came after him.  He spent 4 decades perfecting his talent evaluation and leadership skills that built the Washington Redskins as one of the premiere organizations in the history of the league.

His legacy lives on through our newest partner Kurt Beathard who is the Founder and President of the Beathard School of Football based in the Nashville, TN area. Kurt brings over 30 years of football experience ranging from college to the pros and represents the best that coaching has to offer on both sides of the ball. He is joined by his brother Jeff who is a long time NFL scout currently with the Carolina Panthers.  Take a look at his program here: http://beathardschooloffootball.com/home/4970469

He represents everything that we look for in a GES partner and could not be more excited to bring him to the Team!

At GES we take great pride in attracting the type of people that bring great experience and talent that make our organization one of the very best in the industry.  This latest addition is certainly no exception as we diversify the makeup of our team that maintains the excellence that we constantly pursue.

Michael Spath is a 16-year veteran reporter covering the University of Michigan football, basketball and hockey teams. In his career working as a managing editor for Rivals.com (2002-15) and as a sports talk show host for WTKA (2016-present), Michael has covered nine Michigan bowl games, three Frozen Fours and attended the 2013 Final Four/national championship. Michael co-hosts Football 101 with former college coach Steve Morrison each week during football season and can be heard every day from 10am-noon Monday thru Friday on 1050AM in Ann Arbor.

Michael brings a unique skill set to GES that allows our organization to expand into the state of Michigan as well as the rest of the Midwest and elsewhere.  With his experience in the world of sports media as an accomplished reporter, writer and on-air talent, he is a great addition to our team.

We have been very fortunate to work with some high character football players since the beginning. One of our best examples is Austin Pfenninger who just recently completed his bachelors degree from the University of Miami of Florida.  When Austin came to us, he had set high goals for himself to find a program where he could see the field while earning a Master’s degree all at once with just one year of college eligibility remaining.

These types of opportunities don’t come every day and it requires plenty of research and networking to find the very best one.  To put it simply, Austin went about his work with great passion and vision to arrive at the best decision for him, which turned out to be Drake University!

Austin will be a pursuing a Master’s of Law degree and will be a starter at WR for the Bulldogs in 2017.  Wishing you all the very best as Austin as you continue to reach your goals!

All the best!

GES would like to give special thanks to Donovan Dooley and Andy Denryter for inviting us to be a part of an action packed two days of football and recruiting education to benefit both the young QB’s and WR’s, but also their parents and families as well.

Coach Schembechler spoke to many player’s parents on Saturday morning on the importance of navigating the recruiting process including registering their sons with the NCAA and NAIA to be eligible to play in college. By the time the speech and Q&A session was completed, it was already early afternoon and we were able to provide many great insights on how to manage the recruiting game.  We were very pleased with the outcome as we were able to help everyone in attendance.

GES is in discussions with the QBU Surgeon leadership that we may do this again in the future and we are hopeful that this will be a great partnership for a very long time!

Yours in Football!

The GES Team

GES will be kicking off the summer camp series as many of the very top QB and WR prospects throughout the country will be converging on the Legacy Center in Brighton, Michigan to put their skills to the test!

As is frequently the case, it is the educational aspect that we will be focusing on to benefit not only the fine young men in attendance but also their families as they are at least as important as the kids themselves.  We will be speaking on some of the most important subjects like setting academic and football goals, understanding the NCAA and NAIA recruiting calendars, as well as what it takes to be academically qualified to play.

These topics just begin to cover the wide array of what it takes to managing the recruiting process overall and we will be available to answer those questions in more detail as we will be there for both days of this great event!

GES prides itself on truly looking out for the best interests of all the young people that we are fortunate to guide as we find the greatest college experience that we can!

Remember it is not where you start that is the most important, it is where you finish!

GES Advisory Company is so very fortunate to attract the best and brightest of the coaching industry in all parts of the country.  One of our outstanding partners Coach P.J. Gibbs traveled to Indianapolis, IN during the off-season to become certified as a Master Trainer in USA Footballs “Heads Up” program. Coach Gibbs was one of only 19 graduates of this program this year and he has quickly brought it to the benefit of the players at Gulf Coast HS in Naples, FL where he coaches the defensive backfield.

Take a look at this feature on Coach Gibbs from the local ABC affiliate in Naples to see how our team is making the game better each and every day!

It was a super weekend here in Columbus when the team at Rivals hosted a two day event to uncover some great talent in the midwest.  There were players that came from all over the country, even as far as Alabama to show off their ability!

GES was proud to have several of our rising seniors in attendance and they all did us proud! Regardless of whether it was Isaiah Healy and Ashton Gilkey from Westerville Central, or Josh Stewart from Hilliard Bradley, they all showed that they definitely belonged on the big stage!

Coach Ron Roesink is always at the top of his game as well; even after a lifetime working in the football industry, I always learn something new from Coach “Sink.” This is exactly why we are so proud to have him on our Team!

Always remember that we should always have the mindset that we will either get better or get worse, because we will never stay the same!  This is what we live every day at GES!

Make the very most of every day!  All the best!

Coach Schembechler

If there is one thing that I have learned after a long career in the NFL, the most accurate way to predict the future of any football player is through the professional evaluation of game film. Considering the pain staking process of watching multiple games of each and every snap, it is through the evaluation that there is no aspect of football talent that cannot be identified.

Obviously this is not the only process that we employ at GES, considering that we get to know the backgrounds of each and every prospects so that we know what makes them tick and drives them from a motivational standpoint.  Through each of our outstanding partners, we seek to develop leadership in each and every prospect that we work with.

But it all starts with the film that gives us the basis for us to work through what the reality of recruiting looks like for each young person that we work with.  This is what makes our program the most comprehensive in the industry.

It is the “no stone unturned” philosophy that makes our program the very best and allows us to maintain the highest expectations not only of ourselves, but all the prospects that we are fortunate to work with.

We look forward to working great young people that have the most key ingredient of character and work ethic that will allow them to conquer their goals!

Those Who Stay Will Be Champions!

Coach Schembechler

We are big believers in “Leading By Example” as we do our very best to take that responsibility by seeking out the best education that will ensure the future of GES Advisory Company as the premiere scouting, recruiting and education program in the nation!

Over the weekend, Glenn “Shemy” Schembechler achieved a Masters Degree from the world renowned #1 Sports Administration Program in the World at Ohio University.  Having recently celebrated it’s 50th Anniversary this year, this program’s sustained success has brought together the greatest talent of students and faculty to create an education and network that is second to none!

GES will only get better at what we do with the support of the Ohio Family as we continue to expand our reach to every corner of the United States.  Thank you Ohio University and Go Bobcats!
